Coach Bree Hassell, CEO and Artist Coach of The Albany Rock Project, an Albany native, and a Skidmore College Alumna (2018) began her community work, not as an artist; but as a Coach, a trained Social Emotional Educator, and group facilitator. Coach Hassell is most known for being the curator of connecting groups with the following themes: Civic engagement, Artistic responsibility, Community building and safety, Healthy community, proper, inclusionary fun, etc.

Providing a travel friendly approach to public art using local rocks as a medium, Coach Bree uniquely shares her culture, positive imagery, and vibrancy. The Albany Rock Project became known for the “Rock Hunt” which is small scale art pieces with “keep or rehide” as a call to action to participate in the accessible community art experience. Over 1,400 students, 3 schools, 8 developed programs, 2.5 languages later, The Albany Rock Project was born and became a popular, culturally relevant, community initiative in the Capital Region
